Transcription: The cardiovascular system transports nutrients, wastes and gases to and from the body's cells. The system is composed of the heart and a complex network of blood vessels. Arteries carry blood away from the heart and branch out many times, eventually forming capillaries, which are tiny vessels the diameter of a single red blood cell.
